DOCUMENTing the moments that matter most, with those who matter most to you

the approach

Nostalgic - Dreamy - Documentary Style Imagery

I take a slightly different approach to wedding days...
The most important thing on your wedding day is that you are present with those who matter most to you. Your wedding day shouldn't be about following a timeline or rushing around to make sure that every little photo op is done and taken. A huge part of how I serve couples on their wedding day, is by helping them create space in their timelines to let genuine moments happen. Like the images of you hugging your mom, or wiping a tear from your dad's eye, or a whispered conversation with your love after the ceremony is finished and you have a moment to breath.
Your photos are the one tangible thing you can take away from your wedding day. The flowers will fade. The food will be eaten. Your dress will be gently placed into a box, safely preserved for years to come. But your photos will live on. Through prints and albums. Reshares on social media. They are alive and something you can pass down and show off for the rest of your life.
It is important that you know this, because above all else I want to make sure we are the right fit for each other. Your experience while taking photos plays a huge role in how you feel about the images after. Your wedding photos are something you should cherish for the rest of your life, you deserve nothing less than that from your photographer.

LOVE NOTES

"Absolutely amazing!"

“Kira is so kind and supportive and with such [an] awkward thing for us to be in front of the camera, she made us feel so comfortable and we had a blast with her! The way the gallery was delivered was wonderful and so easy to use, our favorite part of it all was how personalized she made the experience for us, especially with the delivery email and playlist!"

1. Where are you located?

I am based out of Fort Collins, Colorado and Ventura, CA. I frequently travel all over the United States for weddings, and you can see my updated travel schedule on the home page!

2. How many images are included?

Because each wedding is so different I don't give an exact number of photos, but there is no maximum. I will give you every quality image taken. Most weddings average 50 images per hour hour of photo coverage. Sessions can expect a minimum of 45-75 photos depending on the length of session booked.

3. Do you give out RAW (unedited) photos?

I do not. To me this feels like I am doing half the work, after all you wouldn't go to a baker and ask for uncooked dough right? If you feel as though I missed any photos in your gallery I am more than happy to go through the unedited photos again- I never want you to miss out on your memories!

4. How does payment work?

I use a CRM called Honeybook to send all my contracts and invoices and payments are made through there. I typically break payments into two parts: For weddings- I divide payments into 4 payments of 25%, the first being the retainer payment that is due upon signing the contract, and the last being due 1 month before your wedding For sessions a 50% retainer is due at signing and the remaining balance due 1 day before the session.

5. How do I book you?

Just head over to my inquiry form and I will get back to you within 48 business hours! From there I will send you a pricing guide and any other information that is relevant to your wedding, and plan a zoom call so we can get to know each other.  Link to the form is at the bottom of the page.!

6. Do your wedding packages include an additional photographer?

Having a second photographer there on your wedding day is perfect for ensuring that there is not a single moment missed, which is why I include it as an add on for all of the wedding packages I offer. This will ensure that no matter which option you go with, you will know that it is exactly what you need for your wedding day.

7. What if we cancel/reschedule our date?

If you decide to cancel your wedding more than 30 days before your original date you will be relived of any further payments. Your retainer is non-refundable. If you cancel after those 30 days you are still obligated to pay the balance in full. Reschedules may happen within 12 months of your original date. Anything after that will require a new contract and retainer.

8. How would you describe your editing style?

I would say it is warm, timeless, and true to life. I'm very inspired by 70s film photos, and love incorporating that nostalgia while I am editing your gallery, while still staying editorial and elevated.

9. What happens if the weather is bad?

Then we will dance in the rain! Just kidding (kinda) I will work alongside your coordinator to find a good solution that way you don't miss out on any memories. I typically reccomend couples embrace what any weather that happens on their day. In my experience, some of the most beautiful photos have come from rainy wedding days.

10. Will you photoshop us?

No. My rule is if it it not something that would be there normally, then I will edit it out. This includes things like acne, mud, stains, etc. I do not do cosmetic edits, or anything that would change your appearance such as removing wrinkles, editing bodies, or changing colors. This is simply because I think you are beautiful and don't need the extra edits.

11. What do we wear to our photoshoot?

For sessions I will send you a handy little outfit guide that goes over all my best outfit recommendations, including what typically works and doesn't work, and what colors look best. I am also available via email if you want to send links or ideas or photos and I can help you choose!

12. How does travel expenses work?

Travel is included in all my wedding packages (yes ALL of them!) that way it is one less thing you have to think or worry about.  For sessions- travel is charged starting 2 hours beyond the zip code 80521. If I am already going to be in your area though I waive travel fees!

13. Do you offer discounts?

Rarely. I don't want to say never, but it isn't something I do often. I am more likely to offer discounts for sessions during certain times of year (aka end of summer), or if I am traveling and want to shoot in a specific location.

14. What is your turnaround time?

For weeks for weddings and elopements, and two weeks for sessions. I also offer a rushed turn around time add on if you would like your photos sooner than that.

15. Do you help in the planning process?

100% yes. As I'm sure you're tired of reading, I am in your corner and want to serve you in anywhere I can. So for weddings I offer vendor recs, timeline help, consult calls, and anything else you may need. For sessions this looks like outfit planning, location scouting, and optional calls to make sure your session is everything you've been dreaming of.

16. Do you photograph (newborns/families/seniors/etc..)?

While my speciality is couples, intimate weddings, and elopements- I have lot's of experience photographing seniors and families and am more than happy to document this season with you. I don't take on newborn sessions, but I am more than happy to refer you to friends who are experts with this type of photography!
