Okay girl I see you! Your partner just popped the big question and you have the prettiest ring in the whole wide world! you had the most magical proposal that was everything you’ve ever wanted AND MORE, and now it is time to get started on wedding planning! I know that there is so much on your plate right now between wedding colors and dresses and choosing a date! But before you can really get into the planning process- first you have to choose a venue (aka a place TO GET HITCHED).
The venue you choose is arguably one of THE MOST important parts of the planning process. It sets the vibe for the whole day. Your venue is what will be in back ground of every wedding photo, what all your guests will see, and sets the tone of your wedding. Choosing a venue that matching what you are going for is so important because everything else falls around it, from your decor, to what kinds of food you serve, and even how you set up your ceremony and reception spaces. For example, if you want a rustic outdoorsy wedding wedding in the mountains, it probably is not a good idea to get married in a historic mansion or villa. Or, if you really love that classy elegant vibe, choosing an outdoor venue is probably not the best option.
Getting married in Colorado means that there are a million and one venues to choose from, it can be the biggest gift because of all the options (and beautiful scenery like COME ON), but sooooo stressful because how are you expected to choose one? Don’t worry I got you! I went and rounded up my top three favorite wedding venues in Colorado that I think you are going to love too!
Lyons Farmette in Lyons
This is simply the cutest outdoor venue that I have EVER seen, and so perfect for a summer or fall wedding! It is hidden in the heart of Lyons, Colorado near the St. Vrain River, just 20 minutes away from the northern Boulder area. Think intimate vibes, with the most stunning backdrop for your photos. They also have a fully organic flower and vegetable farm that focuses on sustainability and green farming habits. If I were planning an intimate, garden party wedding this is 100% the venue I would be choosing.
The Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings in Laporte
Build in the style of Victorian Houses this venue perfectly combines vintage flairs with a modern elegance. It is nostalgic and timeless, and perfect for couples who want quality without spending their entire wedding budget on a venue. This venue is all inclusive and you can have your rehearsal dinner, getting ready, ceremony, and reception here- which means you and your guests wont have to spend your wedding day driving between various locations. There are also stunning spots for portraits, including a white gazebo with seasonal flowers, and an orchard that is so stunning even in winter months.
Ginger and Baker in Fort Collins
A more unique spot, perfect for couples who don’t want to get married in a traditional venue. Ginger and Baker is a bakery, coffee shop, and restaurant in Downtown Fort Collins, that truly has some of the most delicious pies and baked goods. They also open up their patio and dinning spaces for events such as rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, bridal showers, and more. They also have an in house caterer so that is one less vendor you will have to worry about, and the food is genuinely so so good (they also offer gluten free and vegan options)! There is also a parking lot across the street exclusively for Ginger and Baker customers, so your guests wont have to worry about finding parking down town.
The Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver
One of the most stunning and sought after venues in Colorado absolutely has to be the Denver Botanic Gardens. They book out nearly a year in advance, and it is so easy to see why. With so many different ceremony spots, options to host your reception there, and an overwhelming amount of locations for taking photos- it is the perfect spot for local couples with family coming in from out of town so they can see the sights, and for couples coming from out of state who want a wedding with lots of Colorado vibes that isn’t in the mountains.
Highlands Ranch Mansion in Highlands Ranch
This elegant mansion with a western flair is perfect for couples who are looking for the perfect combination of style and mountain views. There are also several different locations you can choose from for your ceremony location, with both indoor and outdoor options, so you can get married here anytime of year and know that your ceremony spot is completely covered. This is perfect for summer and winter ceremonies when the weather may be a little more unpredictable. The space also features a stunning reception hall, a gorgeous lawn for taking photos on, and beautiful getting ready rooms. It is also less than an hour from the Denver airport, so you won’t have to worry about your out of state guests traveling a very long way once they land at the airport. And with a capacity to fit 250 guests, you can pretty much guarantee that no one will be left off your guest list due to venue capacity limits.
Choosing your venue doesn’t have to be scary or stressful! And my hope with this guide is that you are able to use it as inspiration in your own wedding planning to help you discover what you truly want and are looking for out of your venue.
