First on this list and for good reason! Blue Agave Grill is a Mexican restaurant and the most perfect place for evening margaritas and appetizers. They have one of the most extensive tequila lists in Fort Collins, so you could go in every day and never run out of things to try. They are also celiac friendly, and have lots of gluten free options on the menu. My favorite thing (which is unfortunately not gluten free) is their sopapilla desert basket served with honey! Order a basket of these for the table, and I promise that everyone will love them! This is also a great spot for a double date, or even a night out with the girls.  

2. Edison’s Icecream 

Quality ice cream at affordable pricing is always a yes from me. Edisons is a hand crafted ice cream parlor that puts a new twist on all the classic flavors people have grown up loving. Every flavor is gluten free, and many of the flavors are also dairy free. But you would never be able to tell just by tasting it, unlike other GF/DF icecreams. This is the perfect spot to go to after dinner in Old Town, Fort Collins, or even just making Edison’s itself the event and getting ice cream and going on a walk together in the downtown area. 

3. Picnic at City Park 

Pack a blanket and your favorite snacks, and head to City Park for an intimate and intentional picnic meal. Surrounded by trees, historic houses, and a cute pond, City Park is the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with each other. Bonus points if you bring question card games, like We’re Not Really Strangers, to spark new conversations. 

4. Food Truck Rally 

Happening Tuesday nights at City Park in Fort Collins from May 12, 2026 through September 15, 2026, this is the perfect way to try new foods. Go grab some snacks, and then bring a picnic blanket lay out on the grass and watch the sunset over the Rocky Mountains. 

5. Concert at the Aggie Theater 

In the heart of Old Town Fort Collins stands the Aggie Theater, an unassuming concert venue that hosts a variety of musicians and bands. Anything from tribute bands, to country and bluesgrass, alternative bands, indie musicians- you name it, they have a show booked. Plus places like Blue Agave and Edison’s are great places to go for dinner and dessert before the show. 

6. See a movie at the Drive-In Theater 

The Holiday Twin Drive-In theater has been a Fort Collins staple since 1979. Featuring two screens and double features on both every night, it is the perfect place to park you car, relax, and enjoy a couple of movies with your favorite person. They have an array of snacks for purchase at their snack bar, and the movies start late enough (8:55pm MST) that you would have more than enough time to share a meal together before making your way to the drive-in. Bonus points if you bring blankets and pillows to share, for the ultimate cozy romantic moment. 

7. Welsh Rabbit for Charcuterrie Boards and Wine

The Welsh Rabbit is a locally owned cheese shop and wine bar in Old Town, Fort Collins that carries a variety of imported and locally crafted cheeses. They have cheese board and wine flight pairings in house, so pop in and try some of the locally produced cheeses with your favorite wines! This is perfect for an afternoon date idea, when you are booking for a snack before dinner, or even just letting this be the meal and have the chance to try new flavors together. 

8. Dinner at Little on Mountain 

Little on Mountain is a brunch and dinner restaurant on Mountain Street in Fort Collins. They have an ever evolving, chef curated menu, that is entirely dependent on what is grown locally and in season. Their meals are high quality, intentional, and taste absolutely amazing. They also serve housemade cocktails, a variety of wines, and zero-proof drink options.Due to its popularity, Little on Mountain does require reservations and a reservation fee, that is applied to your bill at the end of your meal. 

9. Drinks and Axe Throwing at the Axe and Ale 

If you are looking for something fun and different that I am sure you have never tried before, axe throwing is definitely the move! Especially if you’re the type of couple who enjoys some friendly competition. They have a variety of alcoholic beverages on tap and canned, but if alcohol is not your thing then they also have a variety of sodas and mocktails. 

10. Drinks at The Social 

For some fun, speakeasy type of bar vibes The Social is the perfect place for drinks and snacks. This place is so popular that there is usually a line to get in on Friday and Saturday nights! To get in you simply show your valid ID to the bouncer, then they will direct you down a short flight of stairs, then you open the door at the bottom where you will be greeted and directed towards your table. They feature a variety of hand crafted cocktails, a curated wine list, and plenty of mocktail options. This is the perfect place to go just the two of you when you want a date night to yourselves, or even meeting friends here for a double date!
